Bageshwar Dham, Gadha

Bageshwar Dham is regarded as a Siddha Peeth (a seat of accomplished spiritual power) of Hanuman, with a tradition said to date back roughly 300 years and linked to the Chandela-era heritage of the region. Devotees believe that Balaji Sarkar himself knows a devotee's troubles without being told, and offers a resolution through the 'arzi' (petition) tradition.

The Dham is believed to have been founded generations ago by an ascetic, and the current Peethadhishwar, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri (born 1996), is the third generation in this line. His twice-weekly 'Divya Darbar', held every Tuesday and Saturday, has made the Dham enormously popular across the country in recent years, alongside service initiatives such as a free community kitchen (Annapurna Rasoi) and mass weddings for underprivileged girls.

Bageshwar Dham's most distinctive tradition is the 'arzi', devotees write their wish or problem on a slip of paper, tie a coconut in cloth (red for general matters, yellow for marriage-related wishes, and black for beliefs around negative influence), and offer it at a designated spot within the Dham premises. Those unable to visit in person may also make this offering from home with sincere devotion.

Due to overwhelming crowds, a token system now governs entry to the Divya Darbar and darshan, and the process changes from time to time, check the Dham's official information before travelling. Even on ordinary days, devotees continue to visit for darshan of Hanuman ji here.
