Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website in general: which pages are popular, roughly how many people visit, and which devices or browsers are common. This helps us decide what to build or fix next. Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies in your browser and may briefly see your IP address to estimate your general location, but this data is not used to identify you personally, and we do not combine it with any other information about you.

Your jaap counter counts, reading preferences (such as text size and whether meanings are shown), saved readings (seen on the Saved Readings page), and viewing history (seen on the Recently Read page) are all saved using your browser's local storage. This information stays only on that specific device and browser, is never sent to any server of ours, and won't appear on a different device or browser. You can clear it anytime from your browser's settings, or using the 'Clear History' button on the Recently Read page.
Voice Search
If you use the microphone button on a search field, that feature relies on your browser's own built-in speech-recognition technology, not ours. This means your browser itself (for example, through its own maker's service) handles turning your voice into text. We never receive, see, or store the voice recording itself, only the resulting text.
Performance Monitoring
To help keep the site fast and reliable, we may sometimes collect anonymous technical performance data, such as how quickly a page loads. This never includes anything that identifies you personally.
Server Logs
